Just a note about the cool scar on my stomach: no, it's not a shark bite or the sign of a removed appendix. When I was born (five weeks premature), half my small intestine was solid--not a tube--and a surgeon at New York City hospital had to take out the malformed part and reconnect the "good" bits.
