In April of 2011, five Bold Strokes Books authors and associates presented academic papers at the 2011 Popular Culture Association's National Conference. Our papers were a part of the "Popular Romance Studies" area of the conference. Our panel, titled "Queering the Romantic Heroine," was attended predominately by scholars of gender studies and romance literature, including the President of the International Association for the Study of Popular Romance (IASPR) and the Executive Editor of the Journal of Popular Romance Studies.
